Research questions, rates of commision for health insurance

Hi,

Would anyone have an rough idea on the following question.

If someone was selling health benefits like axa or heath plan, at say £9 a month. What would you expect the renueration to be to the sales person including salary.

I know the charity muggers get £100 to £140 per 18 month signup @ £15 a month.

Thanks,

Rates vary wildly depending on the insurer, the product and the broker. The typical commission is 10-20% of the premium, but it could be a lot more or less than this.

Some brokers may take a huge lump sum commission up front when arranging life insurance or critical illness insurance, but then take somewhere around 10% of ech premium on a hospital cash plan.

Private medical insurance commissions are generally lower at around 6-8% of each premium, but the larger brokers demand a higher commission from insurers than smaller brokers - I have seen these up at 20%.

Hope this helps.
