Hello all,

Me and my girl friend each run our own business. Me just starting with painting and decorating (just started) and her with dog grooming. We want to start a new small business endeavor. We want to sell some stuff by an online store. A distribution company as asked us for resale tax certificate, business license or any government issued company document..

As we work on our businesses but just not the business side. Can anyone help with what we need to sell online?

Thanks :)

Your suppliers are expecting you to be VAT registered which isn't required unless your turnover is over £75k I think, so you won't have anything else unless your a limited company again which isn't necessary at you stage in business, contact them and say your a startup so don't need any of these.

They may not supply you without, but might need to find a different supplier.

They said "Any form of government issued company document will suffice: business license, seller's permit, fictitious business name statement, etc." But again I think fictitious business name statement is a USA thing?

Any idea what UK document i could send?
