Required - Local number to divert to another number

I need a 01263 (or 01603) number that i can simply divert to another uk number.

I do not need voice mail or any fancy stuff i just want divert.

I don't particularly want to pay per minute charges for having it either.

Can anyone help and how much?

Thanks

£1.99 per month for a local number then 1p per minute for the diverted call to a landline or 12p pm to a mobile. That's it, no contract, no setup costs, no equipment - do it all from the website.

You get free voicemail and voicemail to email too.

Can you explain to me why there are charges for incoming calls? Genuine question as I'm interested to know.

I have an 0845 number and i pay one fee for the year (£35) and as long as it's diverted to a land line it's free. I know I cold get better but at the time it was the only one that could divert to a latvian phone number which is no longer required.

PS your sig has 2 'haves' in it :)

There are various ways of skinning this cat.

You can have a free number AND free diverted calls to landlines if you use an 0870 number. This is because the calls cost about 8p to the caller and about half of it is paid in commission to the number provider.

The number provider then has to send the incoming call to it's final destination which is a new call and has a per minute cost attached to it. If the call is to a UK landline the commission pays for the new call plus a bit for profit.

You can also use 0844 which costs the caller about 5p and pays less commision to the number provider. Normally you get free calls to landlines (ie you don't pay a per minute charge) but you have a monthly rental for the number.

If you want a geographic number there is no commission payable to the number provider so the diverted call must be paid for by the number holder.

We don't do 0870 free divert - mostly because we think it's a rip off for the calling customer - why should they pay you phone bill? but also because 0870 is going to disapear very soon.

We will be doing an 0844 free call divert fairly soon though - mostly because people keep asking us for it.

Calls diverted to mobiles and other specialised numbers (0870, 0845 etc) are always charged for as they always cost more to send a call to than the number provider gets in commission.
