Just a quick one for all those creative minds and technical wizards practicing the black art of working with Adobe InDesign...

I'm looking for an hour or two tuition on how to use the basic features and work with the basic layouts and tools within InDesign CS3

If anyone can help out it would be much appreciated!

Thanks guys!

hi laurag

Thanks for the reply!

Well I'm after just very basic tuition so I can find my way around the program work out how to create a brochure using its function.

I'm a pretty competent MS Office user but switching to Adobe for brochure design is completely different! I know I could get a teach yourself InDesign book, but I'm sure I'd learn much quicker with a one on one tuition being shown around the program.

What I guess I need is a complete run through of the user environment, it seems to be heavily dependent upon the toolbars on the left and right hand side which I could do with having explained to me as well as how to construct a basic document, using text boxes, layers and images etc.

Look forward to seeing if you can help out!

Hi purplemonkey,

Yes I can help you out with that level of stuff I think. Whereabouts are you based? I'm based in Leeds so it might have to be over the phone, unless Flying Hippy turns out to be somewhere closer to you of course! Is InDesign the first Adobe program you have used or do you have any experience of Photoshop/Illustrator?

Laurag - I'm actually based in Berkshire so Leeds might be a little far away as I was looking for someone localish so I could have a session in person! I have the CS3 Design premium suite but haven't used Adobe products before so feel a little lost when I open the products up!!!

Flying Hippy - I'm based in the Berkshire area how about you?

Berkshire might be a litte bit too far for face to face training then! Feel free to get in touch though if you want a bit of advice or guidance by phone or e-mail.

Adobe software is a bit of a minefield to be honest without a lot of training. There are some good tutorials out there on the internet though - some video ones too - that might help to get you used to the basics.
