Remove/dissolve a false start company

Hopefully someone might point me in the right direction.

A few months ago I was discussing beginning a company with 2 partners, they went ahead and registered. Now we have pretty much went our separate ways and nothing will happen with this company.

I'm wondering what the best way to remove myself and them from the company and basically have it removed. Literally nothing has happened since it was registered, it is as if it's a blank company.

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

As I understand it we simply fill in the form, everyone signs and walk off? I don't have anything else to worry about? We don't have any bank accounts or anything so I assume not but I thought I should make sure anyway.

Annoyingly I don't even remember having to sign anything when it was set up, I was just given a certificate and told it had been! Now I get to deal with getting rid of it... anyway, thanks for the pointer - much appreciated.

Hello there

Yes - you submit the form to Companies House, along with the £10 cheque and then wait. Assuming no party objects to the company being struck off it will disappear in three to four months.

I suggest you also write to your HMRC corporation tax office and notify them that it is your intention to strike off, and confirm to them that the company has not traded since it was established. If you don't do this, there is a possibility that HMRC may object to the strike off (in case you owe them corporation tax). They may not, but its worth covering all bases in my view.
