Relocation?

I'm fairly well travelled, having lived in London, Bristol and Exmouth during my time, but the majority of my life has been spent in Cornwall.

This poses the question, trying to open up a restuarant business would it be a more prudent idea to ditch the idea of staying down in a fairly rural place, the surrounding population of a 25-odd mile radius being just over 150k, and to relocate further up country to a better location? Obviously the summer season is great up here, but the off-season suffers in more catastrophic ways than a larger area.

In this situation what would you do? Relocate to a nearby city, re-use previously known places or stick and see it out?

This must be a personnal question for you and your family? ? Do you like where you live? Do you WANT to move?

Remember we work to live, not live to work......or so they say.

I had this conundrem a few years ago, so the wife and I sat down and decided where we wanted to live, settled on Axbridge Somerset, so moved from Herefordshire and then proceeded to make the businesses work. .

Good luck

I suppose I didn't give enough information about myself - I don't have any family ties that keep me held to one location (sad story  ) so in terms of any outside of work commitments it's not an issue.

The main concern is primarily from a business point of view and what the best option would be. I know the area I'm in really well and what would work - is it foolish to trade that knowledge in for a larger location?
