Hi,

I am Liza, a website owner. Currently I'm looking for a DDoS Protected Hosting service for my business. For this purpose, I've gone through Google research & found some lists of providers like Cloudcom, Site Ground, Dream Host etc. I also reviewed their websites which look good. But somewhere I need an expert advice, may be some of you have any knowledge about the services they provide.

Now I'm here to collect your opinion. As I belief, there are many people have dealt with the same situation.

If you could guide me to choose the right one, it would be a great help for me.

Looking to hear your expert advice..

Thanks in advance

There is a company called serverspace in London. They are terrible and supposed to be ddos mitigation specialists. Had nothing but problems and down time with them. Steer Cleer! Sadly I don't know any others to suggest sorry. We ended up going down a different route.

No idea what DDoS is. But I can recommend @Dan_HiHosting and the service his company provides in the UK for tech idiots like me.

Thanks Graeme, much appreciated as ever.

@Liza Shepard Welcome to the forums. Any decent web host will have DDoS protection in place through hardware and software. We don't publicly advertise this, like many, as it can attract users who need DDoS protection on a daily basis, which can be an indication of malicious or illegal activity.

If you want an extra layer of protection then CloudFlare, as already recommended, is an excellent solution, and is free for a basic account.

Any decent host will provide a CloudFlare wizard so you can add it to your website in seconds.

The free CloudFlare account provides basic DDoS protection.

Incapsula is another Content Delivery Network that provides DDoS protection on its paid plans, however it's significantly more expensive than CloudFlare, and CloudFlare is our preferred solution.

Both require you to pay for proper DDoS protection however, $200 per month for CloudFlare's Business plan, and $299 per month for Incapsula's business plan.

I'd probably only consider those if you wanted to make use of the CDN, performance improvement, and guaranteed uptime.

I hope that helps.

Best of luck,

Dan
