Reduction in hours

I work in a care home. Last year we had our hours cut from a 4 shift 3 shift fortnightly rota to three a week dropping 2 shifts every 4 weeks. We have found out today that a new person has been employed and given a contract of the 4 shift 3 shift fortnightly rota. Our rotas have not been changed nor did we get the chance to ask for our lost hours back. We have written to the manager who has ignored the letter. What advice can you give us?

The contracts remained the same we just signed a letter that we agreed to the `new` hours. No new contracts were issued.

So you agreed to the new hours in writing but now want those hours back?:|

Maybe you should try arrange a meeting with your manager?
If you did agree to a change in hours though (in your contract), there is not much you can do Im afraid
