Recommendations for self hosted ticket systems

Looking into establishing a ticketing system on our site for support queries that come in. Would prefer a self hosted one …..does anyone have any they recommend.

Most helpdesk systems are cloud hosted on a "per seat" subscription model nowadays. If you want a self hosted one, take a look at Supportpal (.com)

Have used RT (Request Tracker) for many years and would not hesitate to recommend.

It's open source so nothing to pay. However, you may well need to pay someone to set it up for you.

I prefer self-hosting when possible: email, video conferrencing, time tracking, calendars.... and that is just for our own use.

If you Google "OS Ticket" (Open Source Ticket), you'll see a half decent one and there are plenty of others that are free too! You download, extract it and FTP it into the directory that you want to install it in (for example, "helpdesk" or whatever you want.

We use Vision Helpdesk excellent feature offers self hosted as well as cloud version. Using it for about 10 years now good tool with great after sales support. Recently they have also launched chat feature. worth testing if you are still search one.

It's almost pointless to go self-hosted with these things. It brings a whole pile of concerns. Security, versioning, Updates yada yada...stay cloud.
