I am designing a site in wordpress and was just going to stick with the 2011 theme. I need it to be mostly 2 column throughout and the right column to be a contact form on the majority of the pages.

Anyone know a theme, free or paid, that would be better for this?

A good plugin for the contact form?

Also in 2011 can you have some pages in 2 column and some in 1 or 3 or do they all have to be the same throughout?

2011 is a good secure theme. Google how to change it to 1, 2 and 3 column, (as well as to make the header smaller, cange the nav; whatever you want), mostly, but not only, changing css.
Make the 1, 2 and 3 column themes as desired.
As you will be wanting SEO load the Headspace SEO plugin. This has a page module for using different themes on different pages. Load themes as desired. (This is a workaround for using different themes and a purist will be along in a second to Harry Enfield it: "you don't want to do it like that..."
It works though.)
Contact 7 and cforms both have widget (sidebar) applications and are good.

Perhaps have a look at Weaver and Weaver II, it was based originally on the 2010 WP default themes and has evolved constantly to provide a great customisable theme.

It has some basic templates as well as the extensive options pages within the panel and more options to dig deeper and add snippets and code changes.

Active good support and some paid for add-on extras too.

Soooo many to choose from.

Studiopress, Themeforest and Rockettheme top our list.

Themes are flexible and you can choose your layout by default without touching the code.

As for contact form. We use Contact Form 7 and it works fine and dandy without issues.

Excellent that this thread has come up as I am considering this as an option due to not quite being able to make my website look just the way I want it.

Will be keeping an eye on this and will post in any good themes I find.

Make yourself a child theme of 2011 and a couple of templates to handle any page differences you might need. Very easy to do and you can mess about with it until you come up with exactly what you want without buggering up any core files.
