Can anyone recommend a cheap bulk sms service provider?

I use BulkSms.co.uk and have never had any problems (though we chose them for their easy to use API, so I can't vouch for the quality of any of their other tools).

It depends on what you need bulk sms for - and how you want to connect.
txtNation provides Bulk SMS Software via their mFUSION product for Upload and send via an on-line control panel.

txtNation also provides a bulk sms gateway that allows you to connect and send SMS via an API. e.g. http.

txtNation have good prices and great coverage and importantly have people that answer their phones!

I use txtlocal and find them good for what I need. Like others have said it depends what you are looking for. I chose txtlocal because of their API.

just a couple of thought on choosing your Bulk SMS provider. Make sure that you can control the send rate. So that you do not send 1000 messages at once and then have 500 calls coming in at once. Also make sure that you can get accurate reports on those that have not been delivered.

Be careful.. you can get very low cost messages, but they are "grey routes", and don't always support delivery receipts, you can't set the Sender Name, poor porting between networks (when people move from O2 to Vodafone for example the message can't be delivered), can suffer delays and - often - don't deliver at all because the routes are not stable.

Only use providers that offer high quality UK routed messages through UK operators.
