Hi there, I plan on making and selling plant-based raw chocolate.

My plan for this is to make it in a commercial kitchen and store at home to be sold at various markets. I would prefer to do this at home, but I have a dog and an open plan kitchen.

I know I have to register as a food business, but beyond this I am stumped. How does this work with environmental health? Do they see the commercial kitchen and my place of storage?

Thank you for your insight!

EHO don't need to inspect before you start, they will make arrangements when you get on their radar and as you would be in the 'low risk' category it could be a couple of years. Cooking/processing and then storing somewhere else might be an issue - not a biggy but they may want to see how/where you store it - depends on how you can satisfy them with your knowledge around chocolate storage.
