I daily do quotes for rooms I will display one below, not looking for rewriting anything, but is there a school of thought where I would order (1,2 or3) place the option I really want them to take, (BTW this could be different for different days of the weeks, months etc) in the quote below I would like them to take option 1 (btw this is real quote I sent 5 mins ago).
Option 1: Prepay Rate
(must be booked more than 28 days in advance and payment is taken at the time of booking, non-refundable)

I. £80 per night Bed & Breakfast for 2 people sharing,
your price based on 2 rooms for 3 night is £480 inc all taxes

II. £120 per night Dinner, Bed & Breakfast for 2 people sharing,
your price based on 2 rooms for 3 night is £720 inc all taxes

-------------------------------

Option 2: Standard Rate
(cancel up 2 days before the date of arrival)

I. £100 per night Bed & Breakfast for 2 people sharing,
your price based on 2 rooms for 3 night is £600 inc all taxes
II. £140 per night Dinner, Bed & Breakfast for 2 people sharing,
your price based on 2 rooms for 3 night is £840 inc all taxes

-------------------------------

Option 3: Flexible Rate
(cancel up until noon on the date of arrival)

I. £120 per night Bed & Breakfast per room for 2 people sharing,
your price based on 2 rooms for 3 night is £720 inc all taxes
II. £160 per night Dinner, Bed & Breakfast for 2 people sharing,
your price based on 2 rooms for 3 night is £960 inc all taxes

All opinons welcome

Tracy,

Some behavioral advice that could help you.

1. Use the contrast principle. Make the difference in price between option one and option 2 more notable.

2. Place the most expensive item first (make sure it's expensive, I promise you people will still pay for it, please trust me on this and make it more expensive, I'm basing it on experience) This will make the cheapest item almost trival in comparison, even if it is subconsciously. (it will happen)

3. Don't use the word rate/pricing/cost in the package name.

Hope it helps, of course the key to all of these is testing. It's sometimes easier to do this type of behavioral test when you get 1,000+ orders a day, but I would suggest to test this head-to-head with your initial pricing and see which one brings you more profit. Maybe try splitting 10/10 quotes.

The again, Im not sure if this quotes are for hot leads(confirmed and super hungry buyers) or a a simple prospect but either way the principles remain the same. They key would be to tweak them until they fit your consumer market. These changes alone are very valuable, and can always be pushed to the limits.

Do you receive prospects from an online website?

Here's my proposed pricing. (Please give it a try, you might be surprised at the turnover, hopefully)

Option 1: Flexible Rate
(cancel up until noon on the date of arrival)

I. £140 per night Bed & Breakfast per room for 2 people sharing,
your price based on 2 rooms for 3 night is £720 inc all taxes
II. £180 per night Dinner, Bed & Breakfast for 2 people sharing,
your price based on 2 rooms for 3 night is £960 inc all taxes

-------------------------------

Option 2: Standard Rate
(cancel up 2 days before the date of arrival)

I. £120 (or more) per night Bed & Breakfast for 2 people sharing,
your price based on 2 rooms for 3 night is £600 inc all taxes
II. £160 (or more) per night Dinner, Bed & Breakfast for 2 people sharing,
your price based on 2 rooms for 3 night is £840 inc all taxes

-------------------------------

OPTION #3 - Prepay Rate

NOTE: I just change the per night price not the total.

Hi Tracy

I just looked at the Barrow hotel prices for 2010

£75.00 per night for a party of 4 in one room,is that correct or am i reading it wrong ?.

And it includes breakfast as well for £18.75p pp/pn ?.

That sounds way too cheap if i have it right.
