Quotation Software

Hi

I currently use Sage One to produce quotations for customers and was looking for an alternative software for this, something that specialises in this. I basically want something that can store a list of my products and easily allow me to create quotes.

I don't really want to use Sage One as the quotation part is the only feature I use.

thanks for that, i don't really like the interface of Quick File tbh, but will look into it again

We use Xero. It's price is around the same as Sage One but there is a 30 day free trial and if you speak to them, we negotiated a discount for the full first year.

I find it easier to use than Sage (although I haven't tried their online application). My accountant recommended Xero over Sage too and he had no reseller bias. It's purely what he prefers.

We use Quotewerks that is a specialist Quote system. We generate a lot of quotes every day so being able to manage them all is vital to us. There is a module that allows us to transfer orders and products to our accounting software (sage 50 accounts, desktop). Works great for us.

I'm obviously biased, but we provide an online invoicing & billing software InvoiceBerry that could be suitable for you: you will be able to create estimates and quotes and turn quotes into invoices with one click. However, it is not all what we offer - we have all the necessary features for effective invoice management, so maybe it won't suit if you want something only for quotations.

We personally use software that would always do more than "quoting" If you look at some of the more advanced cloud based CRM's these have functions to maintain your leads, opportunities and provide quotes and maintain pricelists etc.. This way you have your entire customer contacts and interactions in a single place as opposed to multiple applications for different aspects of your customer lead to sale journey. Try taking a look at something like Zoho.

I've had a look at all the options so far and to be honest Sage One seems to create the best quotes in my opinion.

WHMCS, primarily used for hosting companies, but could work well in your case.

Sage One is an online accounting solution. It is designed for micro businesses, pretty much one man bands. Sage One is easy to use and provides basic reports, there is a 24/7 helpline which is very useful, just in case you have any problems.

Sage 50 on the other hand is much more detailed and is a desktop solution. There is the option to use Sage 50 mobile which is an Iphone app which can be used to download your accounts and view them. With Sage 50 you have much more reporting options and functionality with Sage 50. Sage 50 includes, stock control, sales order processing, purchase order processing, projects etc - depending on the level of Sage 50 you choose.
