Quick question about the bank statement is it a good receipt record?

Hi all,

This site so far has been a great source of info, though I feel I'm stuck on simple thing.

I have a Pay as You go mobile phone and I top up via debit payment, for ease and to save time. However I don't get a receipt that I can hold there and then for this. If I save a copy of my bank statement with this transaction on it, as proof of the purchase to run through my books, would it be valid?

The Revenue do like you to have receipts for expenses where possible, however, they are also realistic that its not always possible! A record of the transaction on your statements should suffice.
