Property access

I have a shop and there is a frontage with a small gap with a couple of steps to the frontage of the shop next door . The shop next door is wanting to install a ramp access to their property but this would encroach on my property and I am concerned that allowing this would possibly cause future problems . I would welcome any advice thanks

1, Are the properties leasehold or freehold.
2, If leasehold has an application been made to the landlords
3, Have they sought local planning permission
