proof of postage on franked mail

can somebody please tell me how to obtain accepted proof of postage for franked mail?

I cant find it anywhere.

I have ad-hoc collections and the driver isnt very helpful. I also post of the franking letter boxes...

Anyone?

Royal Mail OBA?

Don't think so? I only start franking in December so all I have is the machine and the license key RM sent me.. But none of that seems to be very helpful..

Do you frank? Also.. the deal I have seems very reasonable, but when you topup there is a fee of £6ish for "processing it ect"... is this normal?

yes online business account, I don't have a franking machine. I use Packetpost and print ''postage paid'' labels. Much quicker than franking.

Maybe you should ring Royal Mail to find out if no one comes with the answer.

Just spoke to RoyalMail who inform me there is no way of obtaining proof of postage any other way than going to the post office and a compensation claim can be submitted without evidence for their "consideration".

No doubt they also reserve the right to outright reject these claims and therefore leave you outof pocket!!!

I would be interested to hear how everybody else goes about their business when things go missing?

I'm actually quite shocked the only services you have proof of postage is special delivery as they provide a book of some sort - which has not only added costs but size restrictions.

So basically if I send out 100 standard parcel items @ £4.41 and a few go missing i'm buggered?

:eek::eek:

Its not like Royalmail are the cheapest either! They are the best mind - atleast until I found out about this!!!

Surely there has to be alot of people around franking mail that have had parcels going missing?

No?

Or if not franking have business collections not using special delivery?

Would love to hear about how you deal with these issues..
