Climate change is a fact and man is one of the main contributors.
Do any of you on here who have dismissed climate change have any knowledge about the science involved ?

The phrase 'Climate change' was chosen instead of 'Global warming' for a very good reason.
Global warming if that is all that happened would be rather pleasant for most people. Climate change is not. Here in the UK people have the idea that either we remain untouched by its effects or we have some sort of water world scenario. The real truth is less exciting.
The infrastructure of this country is design to withstand its particular climate.
Roofs have a slope adequate for our snowfall, Pylons, water towers Etc are built to withstand our strongest winds, reservoirs are large enough to store our water needs. River defences high enough to cope with our flooding.

As climate change takes effect, some of these factors have and already changed, others will follow. We will have to change our infrastructure to suit. The cost of this will be huge, its not just public facilities , but factories and homes that will need strengthening and redesigning.
That is why the government take it seriously, its not just to save some island people in Bangladesh.
