I have been a successful sales manager for a number of years for a large trade/retail company due to internal promotions I am now moving in the branch manager role. Obviously in my current role I have a great understanding of the customer base and the business in general

But does anyone have any advice or tasks I should do once I have taken the helm.

I'm thinking I would need to go visit the big spenders and sit them down for a chat and listen to any concerns they may have with the way the company was run before.

But is there any other ideas you guys have for me to put in place when the day comes.

Firstly Congratulations!

The first thing you need to do is take some time to learn what the new role covers compared with your old role. As a sales manager you would have had some visibility on what went on and what you had to report to the branch manager but I can imagine that there is a lot more to the BM role than you are aware of.

Best of luck!
