Okay, though I have a little background to promote websites but I guess it's not enough. My website TargRo(dot)com, which is a free classified website still needs exposure in order to get massive traffic that I believe everyone of us wants to achieve in our site.

Anyone here know websites (a specific website for advertising) where i can submit my website? Sort of directory submission is what I meant here.

Thanks.

Hi Emma,

In my opinion, sadly there is no quick fix for this problem that we are all battling. It's about getting as many links and as much profile for your site and improving your SEO on a gradual basis....and you don't just need to do it in UK either for your site, so you've got a massive task.

Posting details on one specific site will help but not do enough to make a difference. You need to get out there in as many places as possible - and it's time consuming.

Sorry it's not the answer you're looking for but it's reality.

The free classified ad platform isn't the way to go here. THE dominant provider of this kind of activity is Craig's List, and why so many try and copy them is beyond me.

This isn't the thing to get into these days, even the major newspapers are getting squeezed out now.

Suggest you quit this now and put the effort into something innovative instead. The classifieds ad market is saturated beyond craziness :(

Your opinion is giving me a second thought on this matter however I already started this endeavor and I don't want to just quit. But you are all correct esp you, eventdomain.

It may sound daunting yet it is giving me an inspiration.:)

Hi Emmadean. I'm guessing that maybe you thought I meant for you to set up an ad exchange between us, or that you'd need to set up a full blown link exchange system script. If this is the case and I caused confusion, sorry! I have heard of some classifieds sites sharing their adverts but this isn't what I meant.

All I meant was, I have placed a link to your web site and in return you would add a simple link from you site to my web site (maybe from your links partners page or home page or any page).

I know it's not exactly what you were looking as my link is not a link from a directory. Also I understand that you may not want to link to another free ads site.

If you want to go ahead I'm happy to link to your site in return for a link back to my site at ads-for-free (dot) co (dot) uk

I also have a classifieds ad website. And to be honest its going to be hard to get anywere near successfull. I got the same negative response and to be honest my responses were worse. The site itself is almost dere but im findin it so hard to get people listing on it. The market is tooo saturated. I recommend we be innovative and find another venture. If not it will be bloody hardwork. In business its often good to know wen to let something go.

Il put a link of ur site on mine as well. Send me a message if u wanna share any ideas. Two heads are better than one. lol

It's a hard market unless you are going ultra niche and can find a market for your site.
I've tried a few times with classified sites and the money required to promote it is hard to get back as the competitors offer free listings and make small amounts on advertising. Look at using ebay affiliate api to fill it the categories and that way it at least looks as if it's being used
