Products on first page or introduction?

It depends if you're selling "widgets" or "service" or "widgets+".

If you're only selling the widgets, and your USP is largely price/availability, then bang them on the front page to reduce clicks to basket completion.

If you're adding value through some USP, consider if promoting those USP before the product will lead to increased sales or better customer experience/understanding.

EDIT: Guess it would also depend on your SEO / landing page strategy.
