Products on first page or introduction?

Hi all,

Should company list product also on their home page or have a links instead to send you to the shop?

Products usually - if you got to any big retailers website they will always have products on the first page - but that might not be the case for EVERY single online retailer. It just depends on what makes sense for that particular business.

I would suggest products on the homepage as this would give you more chances of making the sale.

It depends if you're selling "widgets" or "service" or "widgets+".

If you're only selling the widgets, and your USP is largely price/availability, then bang them on the front page to reduce clicks to basket completion.

If you're adding value through some USP, consider if promoting those USP before the product will lead to increased sales or better customer experience/understanding.

EDIT: Guess it would also depend on your SEO / landing page strategy.

Put as many key search words on the front page as poss.
Think very carefully about the words on the main header.
If a customer is likely to search widget, put widget in the header.

Think what search words will a customer use.

You can put the featured products on the first page with your company introduction etc and rest give a link to the online shop page showing your complete range of products.
