Product placement question

I've signed up to Response Source and just had an email through from a TV company who create a welll known Strictly Come Dancing-style programme asking for 'products' from companies for their judges and contestants for the semi finals and finals.

That's basicaly all they say. I'm keen to get some coverage for my accessories and jewellery but am unsure how to go about this. Would they be expecting samples that we wouldn't get back? What happens if they take the items and don't actually wear the items on air - is this just a risk we take?

Apologies, this is a new area for me and I don't want to respond to the email until I understand how things work!

Thanks

Hello Kai

I have been doing product placement for our Snack-a-Can ranges for the past 14 months or so and we will be continuing for the foreseeable future. We have a lot of coverage on Coronation Street, Eastenders and Emmerdale Farm. We actually have a budget for this and we don't get our vendors or products back - the cast and crew munch their way through our sweets. :)

Do you know if you are going to be given a mention, ie in the credits or are you just providing props?

Has the tv production company made an advance or a representative for tv production companies?
