Hi, I'm wanting to start selling to independent stores, but I want to be professional and have my affairs in order before I do. They're all very little shops and/or online stores. I'm told some may require me to have product liability insurance(I sell resin ornaments, nothing medical, electrical, no toys etc) , which isn't an issue, but I want to make sure that's correct and also if there's anything else I need regarding insurance before approaching these outlets. Thanks as always, Mark.

As Mr D says it's unlikely that the stores will want to check that you have liability insurance, however it is advisable to have it in case something goes wrong with anything you have sold to them (for instance someone is hurt by one of your products). Also if you have premises or staff then you'll need to have insurance. anyway.
