I am having problems finding a decent business bank account, I have tried the usual suspects but they are all saying " computer says no". I am thinking about metro bank next for a try. Anyone had any experience with them. My iva finished 3 years ago so it could still be that blot. I actially regret not doing bankruptcy now. It seems like I am still being punished for the sins of my old business partner who fleeced me.

I would have thought any bank would give you a business bank account but maybe not a loan or overdraft, have you said you don't want a loan nor an overdraft and you have money to put in it...?

No if you have adverse credit they don't want to give you a biz bank. It's sort of a punishment for defaulting on debts regardless of who you borrowed from.

Have you tried Natwest? I believe they do a basic business bank account for people such as yourself.

Following my bankruptcy I operated as a sole trader for a couple of years using a Co-op Cashminder account. No cheque book but a Visa card and full internet banking - it was fine.

When I set up a limited company and needed a proper business account however, the Co-op didn't want to know. Crazy!

The answer was Barclays. I opened a full business account as sole director of my own company less that 2 years from discharge from bankruptcy without a hitch. Fill in the online application form.
