Problem logging on to First Direct internet banking

I have used First Direct Internet Banking for years with no problem at all but a few months ago something changed.

My banking user name used to appear automatically as I had ticked the "remember me" but a few months ago it stopped remembering me and I have had to input my user name each time.

There are loads of other sites that I use regularly (including this one) where my user name appears automatically and I don't have similar problems with my business account which is with HSBC

I know that it isn't hard work to input my name every day but I'd like to know what is causing this problem. Google comes up with nothing and it's a waste of time trying to get an answer from the bank themselves so I wonder if any of the techie boffins on here might know the answer

    I use FD and have done for years for my person banking I don't have this problem but I had a new phone recently and maybe the APP update stopped this happening to me

    A couple of months ago I switched from logging on using the mini calculator type thing to logging on via a phone app and I wonder if this had anything to do with it

    This has happened to me on my credit union account. I don't know if it is a 'security' feature?

    It sounds like a cookie setting issue or allowing/forbidding the browser to remember and auto-fill logins and passwords.
    Mine is desktop. Once I enter the ID, the password fills automatically.

    Desktop but my First Direct bank account is the only one of many websites that the auto fill in doesn't work. I will delete all my cookies to see if that cures it
