Pro-rata holiday pay

Hello,

I need a little help confirming the pro-rata holiday days. I started a full-time position (Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week) on 1st April 2019. My last day at the company is today, 17th January 2020. In total, I have been with the company for 9 months and 17 days. My holiday entitlement is 28 days with no bank holiday and I have used 19 days.

I have 9 days of unused annual leave in my entitlement. I will be given 5 days of unused annual leave in my final salary from his pro-rata holiday pay calculations. Is this correct? Does this take into account the 17 days?

Thank you HR wizards

It doesn't work like that. You accrue 1 months' worth of holiday entitlement on the first day of every month, so you are emtitled to 10/12 of 28 days. So 23.333333333* days. The .333333333 can be rounded up, but not down.

You have taken 19 days, so 5 days gives you 24 days, so this is right.
