    Hi guys,

i've had my V750 document through for a registration plate I bought for my car.

I have entered the details on the DVLA website to transfer the plate onto my car and i've had an email to say I can now fit the plates.

The insurance company have been notified and i'm aware tax/mot will automatically update.

However when I enter the new registration plate on the DVLA website to check the plate it says it doesn't exist.

Should I maybe give it 24 hours?

    Thanks

Didn't want to get picked up by ANPR for having the wrong plates.

You probably will - but it is likely you will just get a letter advising your of the issue and to sort it out.

I had it my insurance company mis-typed my reg and I didn't notice on my policy. About a month later I was picked up by ANPR got a latter stating they didn't think I was insured so check with my insurer and sort it out.

Thanks guys. I take it because I had the email i'm ok installing the plates. Didn't want to get picked up by ANPR for having the wrong plates. I have the email from the DVLA anyway :)
If you have the email and the car is taxed and insured it will be OK
I have a lease van that has been stopped with no log bog (apparently) We just keep a copy of the agreement in the van .

As Jeremy says, keep a copy of all and any correspondence related to Plates and Registrations - Plod does not understand and automatically considers the vehicle 'Dodgy!' - OR, as often happens, they do nothing and file it in the drawer marked 'Too Difficult!' - Hence, frequent and pointless stops, explaining everything over and over!

Also remember the random fact that whilst plod roadside can interrogate dvla & MID in the station it is not time critical so they are not allowed to and require paper documents.

I found this out when i reported someone trying to squeeze through a gap and ripping my drivers side mirror off. Knowing the number of witnesses (and as a parked car was also clipped) I rang plod to not get done for leaving the scene of an accident (although i had no intention of claiming on insurance), i was asked to come along to the station, turned up and was promptly given a producer. The insurance document on my phone was not sufficient but a print off on my printer of the same document was (no paper cover notes or certificates anymore), what's more they wanted a paper copy of the MOT even though is also now just a print off. I had to buy my mate (a bike MOT tester) a pint to run a copy off as I couldnt find the original (and all MOT stations can do a reprint of any MOT pass or fail but they are allowed to charge if they wish)
