Yes, isn't he just. A trained soldier doing what he's supposed to do. Even more of a fine example because he's a Royal who isn't hiding behind his royalty. He's getting on with it.

Prince Andrew did the same in the Falklands. He refused to be sidelined and went onto the front line. There are families out there with relatives who wouldn't have been saved if he hadn't been there.

I do tend to think there are rather to many people in societies that think that killing other people is a good way to resolve things.?

Now thats a hard one.

Western Goverments historical total lack of respect for any nation that may have slightly different skin colour and who may not be able to speak the queens English ,is going to be a bit of a barrier to that senario.

We're there for economic interests, plain and simple. Not for peace or security. Otherwise we would not be guarding the heroin plantations and watching over them in the guise of "hearts and minds", what a load of bull. it's easy to demonise the taliban. But at the end of the day the taliban are really no different to the pasthun in kabul (our allies). Same ideology, same people.

The only difference between the parliament in Kabul and the taliban is that the taliban refused to accept out occupation and took arms against us. So we mow them down, and rally the nation agaisnt the taliban under guise of security and spreading democracy.

I agree Karimbo. But would just add that the Taliban are beneath contempt. However it is for the people of Afghanistan to rise up against them if they don't like them. Freedom is achieved through blood, sweat, and tears. Not by "making" them free. They have to want to be free, just as many generations in this country and Europe have.

The USA wouldn't exist if they didn't uprise against us. We would still be living in squalor if it wasn't for......hold on, wait a minute!
