Pricing model

When it comes to software: would you prefer to pay for a SaaS software: fixed fee: £365/year -or- no-sale-no-fee: £1 per sale?...with the alternative option to buy the software to self host for £699 -or- would you perhaps prefer to simply buy a software licence (ie. self host) for a one-time fee of £699?

    Depends on the software, but generally I like;

    1 month free trial, followed by pay monthly with no obligation cancellation at any time, followed by pay annual fee with at least 2 months reduction in price (i.e. if £30 a month I want it for £300 a year if paying upfront)

    Edit to add: Also, if having a months free trial I don't want to have to provide card details to get my free trial.

    It very much depends on the software.

    Paying per sale could be a bit pricey. Our online store, for example, used to sell around £1200 items per month. So a £1 an item would have been rather pricey (I used to pay around £250 for hosting and support). I am not sure what the pricing would look like now! That, of course, was for a website with a back office order and inventory management system.
