Press cuttings on website? "Legal"?

A client receives press cuttings from their PR agency, they want to upload the PDFs onto the website. Most mentions are printed regional press, hence not being able to link to an article.

My understanding (of PR a while back) is that would require a Newspaper License from the Newspaper Licensing Agency....

I am right?

Yes that is correct. If you go on the NLA website, i think there is a on-line caluculator to work out costs.

As I understand it, based on Google case law, you can get away without paying if you restrict yourself to showing snippets.
