Hello all,

I am currently 6 and a half months pregnant and am suffering really badly with back problems.
Working full time 5 days per week is taking its toll, and reducing me to tears with pain in the evenings.
I purchased a back support for my office chair but still im in agony.
We are a cloud based IT company so i was considering asking if i could split my time and work half at home, half in the office just for comfort. Is this a fair request to make?
I really want to work as long as possible.

Has your employer carried out a pregnancy health and safety risk assessment? Is that assessment still valid? If not ask them to carry one out and deal with this problem.

You need to talk to your employer about you're difficulties to be honest. You aren't being unreasonable to ask them to help come to an arrangement if you're struggling.

I will say though, you're 6 and a half months, you will grow considerably from here on in, so if you are experiencing bad pain now then that could potentially escalate, so you should think about that and whether what you want to do matches what is actually best for you.

There is nothing wrong with taking maternity leave at about 7 months. Most people I know took maternity around that point.
