Hello

I hope this is allowed and if there is a section on this forum please to point me to it

I think we require someone to do our online marketing in particular facebook/insta ads and google shopping but not 100% sure. I have made a few posts in recent weeks trying to get the grasp of it, but its very time consuming for me. We make our products in-house so actually sitting down to manage, make adjustment on this daily is not an option for us.

Do many of you outsource this or is the online marketing done inhouse?

Not sure which way to go - do i outsource or not. Also if you do oursource - any recommendations?

Our budget for online marketing is not huge but its good enough to get started.

Thanks

Go back a step. Do you have a strategic marketing plan in place? If not, how are you going to tell anyone what to do?

Thanks for your reply. Yes we have a strategy in place that we believe is a way forward. Just need someone who knows what they are doing to execute it and guide us along the way. Time is the issue for us as marketplaces keep us ultra busy. However we need the site to grow and ensure all our eggs are not in one basket with the markerplaces

Have you run the numbers to see if it's worth outsourcing? Do you have the profit margins to make it work if you are paying someone to do it for you? Equally, do you have the capacity? If someone was to increase your sales by 1000 units per month, would you be able to fill the orders?

I would advise you to outsource this to an experienced professional who has the skills and experience to convert your strategy into a reality. It is also preferable to attempting it yourself and then having to spend more money than you intended to bring in a professional to reverse any mistakes made. When it comes to my marketing/social media - I always outsource.

    I hope this helps.

PPC (pay per click) is paid, but it gives a benefit and more traffic on our website. In digital marketing SEO, PPC, and other are very important so that we will get good traffic on the website and our website and business will be ranking in a good position.

Coming from an Agency perspective, my answer is obviously going to be yes....you should out-source. But to outline why that might be....

We have two staff managing Google Ads all day every day. they have built up knowledge and experience over several years of managing campaigns, and put that experience into use for clients.

90% of the time, when someone approaches us, and says 'I've tried Adwords and it didnt work', it's down to the fact that it wasn't done properly, or their business offering wasn't unique or attractive enough to drive conversions.

Any campaign is underpinned by the data..... every visit you get from a social campaign, or a Google campaign represents useful data. did the user stay, did they buy, which advert did they click on, how old were they, was it male or female...etc etc. The more traffic, the more data. The more data, the better you can improve your targeting.

The data is only any use if you have the time to analyse it, and the experience to act on it.

If you are new to paid campaigns, I would like to offer one piece of advice (take it or leave it). Ensure that the Google Ads account, and the Facebook Ad Account are bother setup, and OWNED by you, because thats where the data lives, and thats your key asset.

If budget is tight, you may want to keep your campaign tight. It sounds like Google Shopping is a no-brainer as a starting point for you, but also I would suggest a dynamic remarketting campaign on Facebook. If someone looks at a product on your site, get them back using a dynamic advert for that particular product. Not too complex to setup once you have a Google Shopping feed in place, and would give you a nice in-road to a social campaign, especially coming into Christmas.

Best of luck with the journey :)

Regular fresh content is key and I would definitely recommend social media management and SEO services. This leaves you time to focus on the core business and ensures that social channels are being properly managed to create organic traffic.

Social media and SEO campaigns are definitely what you should be looking into as they cost little to nothing. You can look into gaining backlinks on relevant, high authority sites related to your business, many blogs offer 'write for us' features for a chance to guest post and share your knowledge. SEO and social media are long term strategies though, so it may take some time before you start to see any real results.

Even if you did know what you was doing, You're valuing your time at nothing.

Chances are though, you'd need to call upon someone that does know what they're doing.

And that's without even drilling deeper into how your "backlinks from high authority sites" probably won't even work as an effective strategy neither.

I'm not against in PPC, but I would prefer organic seo because it will not cost you, however, it will take time to establish. First, set aside FB, instagram, and twitter ads focus on the higher level of platform in acquiring your target audience which is the organic results then social media as a popular network for your brand and business.

Hire someone who is an expert at both platform that generate lead to you.
Also, use this strategy to get the traffic it and works on both of platforms.

Remarketing is a familiar phrase for PPC experts. But let's think about some ways in which you can use remarketing to combine both PPC and social media:

    • Display PPC ads to past visitors and direct them to social media. Sound counterintuitive? Consider the earlier example of Newscred finding the most success on a specific social medium. Wouldn't you like to nudge your previous visitors in the right direction?
    • Email list remarketing gives you the option of targeting PPC ads specifically at people you already know. This not only encourages repeat business, but can help you tailor your offerings along with your ad campaigns.
    • Use remarketing information to benefit both PPC and social media. What gets people to come back? For example, if your analytics show an abandoned cart but frequent visits to your social media accounts, you can used sponsored advertising to remind people to hop back on over to your shop while they browse Facebook.
