Postcode widget

Hello

As the title suggests, i would like a potcode checker on a few of my websites. Could anyone recommend a good software company that could do this? My web designer does not offer this service.

I have tried adding a pic of the design i would like but i don't have over 30 posts, so cannot include in the post.

Thank you, Tom

Postcode Anywhere have a postcode lookup service, we use it in a lot of our apps - however, there is a cost per lookup - it's only pence, but if it's on a public facing site (rather than an internal system, as ours are) you'll have little or no control over how many credits (and £'s) you'll rack up!

I can't imagine there will be a "free" version of this, since the Royal Mail own the PAF data and charge for it at source.

Hi. We have built a simple "Store Finder" using the Google Maps as suggested above. If you send me a message I can send you the demo link personally as I don't think it is 100% complete yet. It is pretty easy to use as well. Also if you are running an off the shelf website package such as Joomla or Wordpress or Magento there are loads of available plugins to do this also.

When you say 'postcode checker' do you mean to check that the postcode is valid or to do a full lookup? You can validate a postcode fairly easily using a simple call to Google Maps or Bing. As far as postcode lookups go the easiest to work with is PostcodeAnywhere but there are alternatives from AFD or QAS. These are all paid services. You are looking around 5p per search with these.

You can do a free limited postcode lookup with Google Maps or Bing that gets you as far as the local area. You could also look at OpenStreetMaps which is free.
