> More than 2,000 employees, most of them previously based in Slough, have now moved to one of the online retailer’s three London locations – Glasshouse Yard near the Barbican in EC1, Leadenhall Court in EC3, and Amazon's new UK headquarters at 60 Holborn Viaduct, EC1.

So assume EC1A 2FD but might want to (try) call or email to find out for sure.

Just some feedback. I got my problem dealt with easier by writing a letter with a stamp than previous experience using the phone.

Amazon had deducted £79 from my credit card without authorisation for something called Prime. I wasn't even in the country at the time.

Mind you, if you need it Prime is a pretty great deal. Free delivery, in some cases same day, in some cases within 2 hours (Prime Now), I ordered a £8 laptop charger at noon one day and it was delivered by 6pm. Then you get Prime video streaming and music library thrown in.

Obviously if you don't need or don't want these things then its not a great deal.

And it is too easy to accidentally sign up to the 30 day trial, which then auto bills, so lets say someone in your family was ordering something using your account 30 days before the billing and sort of pressed a button saying get delivered next day free by 'Prime' without understanding the consequences. Not saying that was what happened, but it could easily.

I very much doubt that Amazon could deliver in Cornwall within 2 hours.

I looked up some other purchases at the same time.

Bristol Cameras 24 hours for £3.90.
Amazon 3 weeks for a delivery charge of £79.

    Doesn't make sense.

Aye, phone calls can be forgotten, emails deleted but a letter is a tangible thing. It makes bureaucrats nervous.

We have an office quite near Amazon in London. I fantasise about dressing like Gumby, bringing an exploded toaster up to their nicely poised receptionist and trumpeting "What art thou goin' do to about THIS, my good woman!?"
