Post was deleted for welcoming a person from Greece on to the forum in Greek

FFS Little do you know that I practice Greek everyday and it's the only evidence of intelligence that I am unable to display unlike you "university guys" ?? ??

    Morning,

Unfortunately, we do have to make a decision that posts be in English. This is because the forum is targeting UK businesses for discussion and we'd prefer that posts on the site are not diluted or segmented by taking place in one of the many hundreds of languages from around the world.

The post in question was essentially just pleasantries, something we also try to avoid where possible, even if it is wonderful to see members wishing each other well for no other reason than because it's Friday and the sun is shining (At least here in Northamptonshire). :)

Sorry, Jeremy, but as my only knowledge of written Greek is from learning Ancient Greek for 2 years in the 1960's, I am unable to tell wherther you are telling the new member welcome, or whether your post breaches evry other forum rule.

Bloody hell @Ethan39 , when did you become such a grumpy old git! I thought that was my job.

Surely we can allow some pleasantries here, otherwise you better delete my welcome post to a new member I made this morning!:eek:

    Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
I DO, I do both. So be very careful. I am letting this go because, although it is in Latin it is also a well known saying - who guards the guardians, or something similar.

I think that there is an unwritten international rule where laws are only broken if written or spoken in the local language:)

ie As part of my understanding of the language I listen to a Cephalonia radio station called Ionian Galaxy They play 90% Greek music but when they play the 10% English they leave in all the effing and jeffing that we remove here! That makes me laugh?

What do they say "beware of Greeks bearing gifts" oh and dodgy van delivery companies who take your furniture and hold you to ransom
Ransom! All this junk of yours that we have here needs an additional payment to cover my hiring of skips ???
