There are no cliques here. Anyone who knows anything about physics would know that such a device simply cannot exist under our current understanding of physics.

There would have to be several major breakthroughs for this to work.

As I said, if it has no energy going in, it HAS TO rely on zero- energy loss internally... It CANNOT work, as scientists have spent billions of dollars and millions of collective hours trying to make superconductors feasible.... they can't do it yet. How can this guy?!
Ok its not possible to do. The laws of physics say so.
Whey then do scientists spend billions trying to make it work and spend so many collective hours in doing so.
They must have just an inkling it can be done but just dont know how to yet. In your own words.

2 different things.

Machines using magnets and zero- point energy or similar don't work. Scientists don't waste their time on them. Amateurs and dreamers do. The theory, the maths does not work. Simple.

Superconductors that work at room temperature (or not at silly low temperatures) are a possibility one day (and there is plenty of evidence to suggest it is possible). They are getting closer to them working, but it's slow progress.

Even if a device were to be made that had ALMOST no emissions ( in otherwords a super high efficiency) it wouldn't hit the market until the oil reserves ran out or became un profitable as the oil companies would never allow it.
Precisly. Thats what I was saying in an earlier post. The chances are, something does exist already but will not be used until all profits have been drained from the earths rescources.
Just like cars now. Your not telling me that a car can not be mass produced that need no diesle or petrol. They just would not allow production of such a thing yet.

Battery cars? Hydrogen cars? Biofuel cars? All exist, none can really replace petrol cars for various reasons. What other fuel sources are there?

What else do you want to run them off? farts?

Interesting post!

If Jesus or The Buddha came to earth no one would believe it.
If this product did exist - it would be buried as the energy firms would hate it.
If a cure for cancer was discovered, the drug firms would go bust..........

I know there is a cure for cancer, but the drug firms have been burying them for many years.

Not sure on Jesus or the Buddha.

As for the energy thing, Didnt Ben Elton write a book about this very subject?

Quantum science/physics knows its there but not got that far yet. But they are pumping money inot it like you wouldnt believe & NASA are dedicating alot of resources.

The big question is, if you did have such a device, who would you trust???

I doubt the oil companies exert half as much control on new tech as people think - in reality inventors are passionate, determined - unlikely to sell up their discovories to the likes of Shell.

But you're right about oil and other fossil fuels. People bang on about using up the planets 'natural resources', but come on! What else would you do with oil and coal? Anyone who takes the time and effort to reach a deep sea oil pocket has likely achieved something the typical greenie organic-ite would never had done. May as well use the stuff.

Its not running out now, its been running out since the first time we used it. Seems pretty reasonable that it is likely lasting long enough to allow us time to develop future energy sources for when it does.

Funny how technology solves problems as fast as it creates them :)

I saw an absolutely fabulous idea for a tire that couldn't deflate. It was a faultless design, I talked it over with several engineers and they agreed with my thinking, it would work a treat but I reckon one or more of the big tire companies bought the design because I've never seen it since.

I can't bring myself to believe this, (not least because I've never seen so much free labour turned down in such a short time). No boffin I ever met would put a pic like that up.

Really? How can a tyre not deflate? Given that no tyre deflates unless punctured or pulled away from the rim by a greater force than the air pressure keeping it in place.

I hope you can reveal the basic principal - if so, I will take 4 of them ;)

With the exception of those that are sceptical about the claims, I have to say what a load of piffle by what I thought were intelligent people I have read in this thread.

Barrie

Absolutely. There seems to be a desperate hope and need for the existence of a magic box that does energy production/defeats friction/etc etc thus solving all the world's problems, regardless of reality.
That this box has not appeared is the fault of the oil companies/Freemasons/Haliburton in a dreadful, all powerful conspiracy.
Only the pure of heart, green of outlook, vastly talented and giftedly imaginative can understand this, and you have to believe what they say without proof.
All sounds vaguely familiar.

I am none of the above and this box, if it exists is not the crux of what I am getting at.
It makes no difference to me if it’s a box of power or someone has invented a new colour.
What I am saying is that we are nation of people that just put everything and everybody down. We never learn from our past lessons.
History is littered with clever people ridiculed by other so called clever people only to be proven right eventually. These people then become our past heroes. What a race hypocritical people we are.
We say we know whereas in reality we never actually learn anything. Yes, the human race is advancing but to what? Oblivion, mass destruction, colonizing the stars where we can destroy and pollute other planets, just what are we advancing too..

The whole nation is like this, and no single citizen has ever learnt from experience? Poppycock.
History is littered with clever people ridiculed by other so called clever people only to be proven right eventually. These people then become our past heroes. What a race hypocritical people we are.

History is also littered with people ridiculed by other people only to be correctly proven wrong eventually, (those making the claims being wrong). These people are quietly forgotten, despite the fact they vastly outnumber your 'past heroes'.

To claim that ridiculing a cheap, unproven, unseen, perpetual energy machine is a symbol of a deep malaise in society is exactly what I was talking about: the deep need for magic and a belief in the unknown, and the decrying any rational, empirical criticism as a psychological fault is the defense mechanism of this need for magic being commented upon.

Np certainly not. I would also want proof before doing anything.
Due diligence and all that.
Its the ridicule, the cheap jokes at other peoples expense that annoys the hell out of me.
Sometimes it is pretty clear who a joker is. Other times I have seen young people come on here and ask the most basic of questions and get ripped apart from so called mature, intelegent people.
What sort of way to help people is that.
OK, this person may well be living in a dream world, but are we all not in some sort of dream world where we want this or whant that.

This person (the OP) isn't living in a dreamworld! They know the products crap, its a scam!

Thats why people ridicule...

Also ridiculing an idea is often the fastest method to a) extract a more complete explanation of why its actually good. b) or prove early on that it isn't worth pursuing.

Nevertheless the best 'magic box' we can ever hope for is a device that provides cheap energy with emissions that do not damage the environment in the way that most traditional energy providing systems do today. The 'conservation of energy' law (unless proven otherwise) means that energy cannot be created or destroyed so zero emissions is never going to happen, all we can hope for is a device that has emissions that can be used in a positive way like some devices that have WATER as an emission.

If it werent for the threat of terrorism then ideally we could have a nuclear device in every household and car. The fact that some of us would tamper with out nuclear devices to turn them into dirty bombs is the drawback plus the initial cost would be a tad more than your solar panels!

Thanks for that, it does back up what I was saying but then all the bury yer head in the sand lot will just ridicule it as well.
There is more going on in this world than we, the little people know about and most of it boils down to absolute power and wealth.

Panda

i love that you are open to new ideas and generally have a positive expectation of the posters and their hopes and ambitions (and yes, that a lot are just starting out and may ask some pretty basic stuff)

However, lets say this device DOES work, then so long as the OP is involved in promoting it - we'll never see it in our lifetime!!

A product like that will sell itself. All he has to do is patent it, then sell/license it to any number of organisations - power companies, governments, military, charities, universities.

Youtube is your friend and word would spread very quickly if it worked.

All you have to do is protect the IP, get some physics professor to test it and write a paper on it.

the world will be beating a path to his door (including a lot of companies who will pay to silence the thing coming out!!)

I agree with what you are saying. I dont for one second think the OP has what he says he has, or if he has hes very naive to think he will get a proper response from here, unless its part of his plan to start spreading the news.
What I am getting at is that for every 10 decent postings asking real questions or for some form of guidence, the thread generates further down the line to jokes made at the OPs expense. Its always the same people as well. Then more jump on the bandwagon and the thread deviates from its original question.
It happens time and time again.
It has happened to me and I see it happen to lots of new people on here.
Why.

But, if the poster puts his question in a way that shows they have a plan, have thought about what they are doing they tend to get a very good response.

I've had some excellent advise on here and picked up lots of interesting wee ideas that hadn't occurred to me.

Maybe the problem is that people expect "newbies" to at least check out business link or approached their local enterprise organisations to get the basics. Then have questions based around the research they have done.

Some people just dont have good business accumen.
They may be good at other things but business elludes them.
Maybe they dont know which way to turn.
Remember, we all started out in business knowing nothing.
Maybe hes made his first biggest mistake by posting on here.
Maybe he has picked up enough advice from this thread to take it further, who knows.

Agree.
He's not bad, in the villain way, so good luck to him if he profits from the comments, positive and negative.

There was a structure inside the tire made (if I remember correctly) of the same material as the tire itself, several fins in this sort of shape )( all round the inside, creating a stable support which provided cushioning. I really liked it. Saw it on TV once and then ... nothing.

I used to use the resealable innertubes - you may know of these, they release a yellow/orange 'glue' when punctured so the tyre doesn't deflate. A tyre such as that which you describe, used in conjuction with an innertube like this would be brilliant!

If I held the rights etc. to the product I'd be seriously tempted to give it another bash. I think there is definately a market and would be interested to know of the approach to market and reason for failure.

Wish I knew. I saw it on a recording of 'tomorrows world'. I was pretty young at the time but I felt then it'd be pretty revolutionary, and still don't understand why it didn't catch on (if it was ever released commercially). I always guessed it had probably been suppressed.

They had a demo model and had obviously sunk a lot of money into it. A simple idea but obvious and wonderful.

It's not my area at all, or I'd surely be checking for patents.

It's an interesting idea, but as the earlier poster said:

Apply for a patent
Get a respected research physicist/engineer to review it (they'd do it for nothing to get their name involved, if it was genuine - Nobel's all round). It would have to be someone very well known to make such a claim credible
Hold a press conference, preferably at the university of the researcher.

The world will beat a path to your door. Forget private investors - government will be offering you unlimited funds to solve what is likely to be a major problem next century.

On some of the other posts, I suspect the main reasons that great looking products (such as the tyres) never make it are:
a) The innovation is fundamentally flawed, and does not work properly (like the tyres make the ride so hard they are unusable, for example)
b) the product could be made, but at a cost so high that it could not be sold at a decent price - see skycars, etc
c) The problem has already been solved in some way that is cheaper/better/easier
d) The momentum of the market may mean a slightly improved product never takes off - betamax vs VHS. Or if your new tyres would need all new rims - or new roads - to work properly
e) The product solves a problem that does not exist (see Segway)

Of course, all these arguments change with time - manufacturing costs change, scales of problems change, tastes change. Companies spend a lot of time trolling old patents to see if there is anything valuable worth exploiting, and paying the patent owner if it is still covered.

What do you lot think?

Interesting thread.

Just finished reading it, checked my inbox and found I had received the following spam email:

"Dear Internet Friend,

Magnetic Power Generator creates absolutely F.R.E.E energy, and doesn't require any resource like wind or solar energy to function, and creates energy by itself and powers your home for F.R.E.E.

For details and more info please visit:

http://arp.8.sritis.lt/cgi-bin/arp3/arp3-t.pl?l=23&c=716115

Or visit here: http://magniwork.8.sritis.lt/"
Any connection, or pure coincidence?

Edited to add: OP I hope you're telling the truth 'cos my electricity bills are ridiculous :)
