What are the average revenues and profits for small local businesses? For example: cafes, restaurants, independent book shops, hairdressers, florists, dry cleaners etc. I know it is a difficult question to answer, but any help would be much appreciated! Thank You

There's no simple answer to this question, I'm afraid. Typical small business profits, margins, turnover etc. vary wildly from town to town, never mind industry to industry. An individual business owner's personal choices (whether to employ lots of staff, trade on Sundays, advertise etc.) also have a huge impact on figures. We monitor the business for sale market very closely (we're the largest business for sale marketplace in the UK) so I can provide you with some precise figures if you have a specific business type and/or location in mind?
