Please help me to improve SEO and Google ranking.

I know that link building is important to SEO. But I'm not running a famous brand like Coca-cola or starbuck, I have to build quality backlinks by myself. The keywords can easily reach 2nd page in Google, but never move on.

1. Submit my webpage to social bookmarking
2. Build some blogs and keep updating, create some hyperlinks to my domain.
3. Write reviews for my products and submit to article websites.
4. Submit my domain to directory websites.
5. Join some forums and create the signature that links back to my domain. Post some new threads

And I also have some problems.
1. Social Bookmarking webistes accept every site that submits, the quality of my backlinks is low.
2. Search engines don't like duplicates of content. Should I keep submitting my review to article websites?:|
3. Often get banned by forums, even if I just post some tutorials or answer the questions. They hate people posting links. :(

What should I do next? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Content is always king. And I'm trying to improve my content, still need to do some technical jobs, right? ;)

Umm..I review the job I did, and really, start to realise that I was quantity over quality. Would you please give me some tips on quality link building? Sounds difficult.
I'm in software industry, and did some onsite optisation.

Fernandez, you are not doing bad at all!! You rank 5th in google.com search for PDF to Word and have google page rank 4. Your keyword density is good - I found "PDF to Word" more than 5 times on your page. You have the phrase in an H2 tag within the page, you have internal links to "PDF to Word". I'm no expert but you're doing a much better job than me! I'd say continue doing what you're doing, just give it time and carry on trying to get some good links. Sometimes you need to be a bit creative, try contact software magazines or ezines other bloggers or what not so that they put a link to you on their own well-established sites. Find one or two other websites doing something relevant to your own work and do a link exchange - with PR4 you wont find it difficult.
PS I really like your website design. Who designed it?

Thank you goiss333, there is a team running the website, and it is designed by two girls. :p We keep improving it, please give us more feedback about the UE.

PDF to Word is just one of our target keywords, you know, not everyone would search that keyword on Google, some others like 'edit pdf', 'save pdf as word' etc. Other keywords have been staying in 2nd or 3rd page for a while. And I wanna know how to increase from 5th to 1st. And 3rd page to 1st page.

SEO is always important for a website. Right?

Need to be more creative, so we have account on Twitter and Facebook, trying to enhance the brand via social media. And cooperated with some IT websites. However, some of the cooperation is out of the budget.

Don't confine yourself just to SEO - if you're not doing this already, certainly use Social Media for Business. Using the right resources and setting it up right will get you better quality connectivity and generate good leads.

Coconex, which has just launched is free and has the best features of facebook but is geared for business promotion with better business type apps.

Depending on your product / service, Ecademy can also be very useful.

I have found FreeIndex to be efficient in SEO terms and it too has some nice promotional features.

Try and combine these activities with review generation (including on FreeIndex) - don't cheat by posting your own disgusied reviews or asking / paying others to do so - that's an offence under consumer protection laws. Make good online customer feedback part of your marketing strategy and it will help people to find you and more importantly, trust you when they do. There is some good info and solutions on KwikChex, which authenticates reputable businesses and verifies customer reviews.

Regards,

Chris
