Please advise me on marketing

Hope everything is going well in your side.

Me and 3 my friends are creating business plans (website koolst dot com). We know we are not stars in financial industry, but do we know what we are doing and we are developing our experience a day by day, and do not charge excessively.

Could you advise us anything on web marketing considering our industry? Where should we start our promotion from?
Thanks in advance
Sergey

Hi Sergey

I would suggest getting a Marketing and PR plan/strategy in place that you could implement over the next 12 months.

This is a great idea and the website is good - straightforward and not confusing. People looking for a business plan don't need a lot of big words, they just need plain and simple which you have done.

You would need to consider online and offline marketing, PR, advertising etc.

Have you considered who your target market would be and how to promote your services to them?

PPH (People per Hour) would be a good place to start to offer your services to new start ups.

Michrome.com has an extensive database of new start ups - many of these may have registered the name but may or may not have a business plan in place.

Entrepreneurs are a good target market. There are forums around for these are groups on social media.

http://startups.co.uk/ would be another good one for you and also the start up clinic on this site, although direct promotion of your services isn't allowed.

Hope this has helped a little?

Best of luck with your venture.

Lucie

Hey Sergey,

Lucie's feedback is great and I don't have much to add to that except I think that social networks as well as offline marketing are both important aspects for a full-fledged online business. What I want to say is that fb and twitter followers can be considered a good investment for your venture.

Do not buy facebook or twitter followers - complete waste of money!

Yes, that is true. You will not get nothing good from that.
Better idea is Facebook Ads campaign. I am using it now to few brands and working well.

Generally you will need testimonials what is really difficult at the beginning. I think PeoplePerHour is not bad idea, but it is good just to get testimonials. Unfortunately, you will not earn good money there, because everything there is really cheap, so you need to be cheaper than the rest of users.

Longtail SEO is next step I think.
I think you should to make blog where will be fresh and unique content to link and trust building. You need to give something for free and then you will get many links and shares to your website, what should get you some conversion.
If it goes about longtail SEO, I mean focus on the small area at the beginning then will be easier to fight with older and bigger companies.

Try write some article about how important is business plan and about the most repeated problems by companies and then send proposal to any big blog which can make some conversion for you. You will get free ad, trust and hopefully conversion.
