Please advice with a resignation letter

Hello,

I'd like to resign from my current job. I have to give one calendar month notice period to my employer. As this is my first resignation letter, I have a few questions.

I want to give a resignation letter to my employer on 30. 05.. So I guess, my last day at work will be 30. 06. (well, actually 29.06., as 30.06. is Saturday).
Should I have two copies of this resignation letter and ask my manager to sign one copy for me? Or how can I handle resignation letter to my manager to have a proof, that I gave it to him? If my manager won't be at work at that day (he is travelling a lot), who should receive resignation letter?

This is part of my resignation letter:
As per the terms of my employment contract, I will continue to work for the company for the next one calendar month, completing my employment on 30. 06. 2012.

Is the date correct? It's a Saturday... Or should I write 29. 06. 2012? But for the last 3 days (27.-29.06.) I will have a holiday (annual leave). Will it influence the last date in resignation letter?

Sorry, for so many questions, but I want to make sure, that my first resignation letter will be correct.
Thank you for your answers.

Regards,

Peter

You may not be working until that date depending on how much holiday you have left to use. I would stipulate you are giving 4 weeks notice and then agree a date for your actual last day of physical work.

Unless you have reason to believe your resignation letter will 'get lost' there is no real need to get them to sign a copy - unless you really want to. If you manager is away that day you could email him it - unless your contract stipulates how a resignation is to be tendered (which is unlikely)
