[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']Can anyone recommend photo editing software (preferably free software) which enables you to cut around photos to paste them on to a clear backgrounds and paste several images onto the same frame. [/FONT]

We have Adobe photoshop (£300 - £400), and have also tried some of the serif software, which have a similar package photoplus, if you google photoplus x3 you can pick it up for £9.99 and it is very good, a lot of similar tools to photoshop.

Personally i have always used photoshop, the new photoshop CS 5.5 works seamless with photo editing.

With a click of 3 buttons you can have a object selected and refine the edges.

It is worth every penny in my view.

If you want to resize objects and you use a mac.

Best thing to do is use Mac Automator to create a script that auto re-sizes a image to the input you wish once dropped into the folder :) This is great if you need to re-size 100's of images to the same size for a website.
