Phone calls.

To make a long story short, I receive to many phones calls to be able to do my work and deal with them correctly.

Most are from new customers who would like a quote from us.
Around 10% is from current customers who need help.

When a new customer calls its really just data gathering, take down their name, address, etc.

I was thinking of maybe paying out for the answering service, where they would email me the calls, so I could return them at my convenience.

I'm still debating whether to have all calls going to the answering service, or just new customers. Maybe I could have numbered options when they call. For example, 'press 1 for new enquires, 2 to existing customers'. You get the picture.

Could anyone recommend any companies, or have any other solutions?

Many years ago we used a company called Devonshire to do just that for us. They also gave us an 0207 number which we thought was prestigious at the time; shows how long ago as that could all be done with VoIP now. I believe they went a few years ago but it is certainly a service that is available in the market.

Interesting, I will look in to that.

I was thinking of having 2 options, #1 going to an answering service (for new customers)
#2 going to me (current customers)

I'm hoping this is the correct route, then I won't need to have the phone with me all day :)

We have used alldaypa for overflow and out of hours calls; works very satisfactorily. Personally, I hate listening to options in a phone message; why not get a new number for customers to use - maybe adds a bit of kudos to your offering.

Hi James,

We can help. :)

We'd answer calls in your company name, take down the relevant details and send them to you via email.

We also now offer a feature called 'Message Reply' where you can reply to the messages we send you with a 'task' such as call the customer back with a response / information, which many clients are finding useful.

Feel free to get in touch if you'd like to discuss further.
