Phishing Scams For Xbox 360 Live Users

Hey everyone,

I came across this page here and it speaks about how a number of people have had a few quid taken from their accounts.

Obviously, the more cynical people here who have an Xbox Live account know the risks of unsolicited e-mails requiring specific data from you, so this link will just be a quick tea break read. But there are an increasing number of kids and teenagers who use the service who aren't as clued up on the risks, so you should pass on the link to them.

Phishing scam's are rife at the minute, i've had people phone me up asking was their copy of office illegal because some bloke phoned it up and said it was and wanted card details or said they would be fined if they didn't buy it.

the fact is they either buy it or i don't install it the alternative is open office.

the other one going round is a fake virus infection you need your pc cleaned at a cost of .... or microsoft will terminate your Windows installation and your provider will cut off your internet, blah blah


in both cases the person claims to be from microsoft/working for microsoft
