    Fairly minor but:

"Are you trading as a Sole Trader, a Registered Partnership, or a Registered Limited Company (Ltd/LLP)?"

Partnerships do not need to be regsitered (other than with HMRC for tax) and, apart from LLPs and limited partnerships, are not generally registered (in England and Wales at any rate).

The text on the radio buttons should be clearer for the Limited company choice to make it clear LLPs are included with Ltd (e.g. change "limtied company" to Ltd/LLP).

You should probably add separate choices for employees and people running not for profits. They may not be the main audience but there seem to be a fair number around.

You are right, but I was trying to keep the options a few as possible. I felt the more options offered the less likely someone would be to complete their profile, which then renders the up coming change to the Directory unusable.

I wanted to use the options; Incorporated / Unincorporated : but realised not everyone would know what that means.

Good idea on the Non-Profit option.

Also, Sole Trader might be better as Self Employed (being pedantic).

A sole trader can be self employed or have a registered company. It infers that they work by themselves (a one person band) and not their structure!

BTW, if you buy or sell, you are a trader. I am not sure what else you would have a business for!

Well, they are not a multiple person trader

No, they are a Ltd company.

The point of the question is clearly to ascertain the type of legal entity used, not the size of the business.

As in"not making any profit" or "not for the purpose of making profit"?

We do not want everyone rushing to use it if its the former. :D
