PC Gamers

Are there any gamers here? - What games do you like to chill out with?

Me personally, I'm quite attached to WoW and Diablo III - however a friend of mine told me to give Torchlight a go, made by the original crew of Diablo - apparently there was some sort of argument which ended up them splitting up and creating Torchlight... very similar in ways of Diablo only a lot more "Cartoony" don't get me wrong, I quite like that difference of appeal... I just can't seem to find enough identify scrolls!!!

I use to chill out with CoD United Defensive, loved the game... got sick of being kicked from servers though being called a hacker because I got jump shots off to a tee... :D

Anyone find another decent game to chill out with?

I'm a big PC gamer :) I loved Diablo on release and still play a lot of StarCraft and Dota 2 (as well as organising a few events to watch championship matches down the pub - we got a few weird looks!) but I've recently come around to how much great indie stuff makes it out on PC. I love finding and playing small, almost throwaway games that take a clever or funny idea but don't stretch it out until it's dead.

If you like FPS & adventure games have you tried DayZ? It's currently only available as a mod and is pretty rough around the edges but does some really interesting things with the standard zombie survival / shooter.

Edit: Should've added, when I want to relax (rather than get stressed out at opponents or terrify myself), I'll generally jump into a big story-driven game like Deus Ex or Fallout for a few hours. I love the scale of the worlds and the level of detail in them.

I remember playing Diablo when it first came out, I found it extremely relaxing... especially in the "cow zone" :D - kinda reminded me of the ex-ex wife :D

I don't really get time to play anything else, I probably get 2 hours a night while missy is out working - (that sounds really bad!!!) - She's a Cleaner!! ;)

Personally I love the Command and Conquer series, I own all of them including all the expansion packs. Never seem to tire of it, I can dip in and out play a campaign or just a skirmish as I like.

Was also addicted to the original Doom and Wolfestian ( giveing my age away here) Tried to get into CoD etc but I really have problems remembering all the keys commands!!!

Nice to see we've got a fair few pc gamers on here so I thought I'd offer this up - I've just had an email from Steam letting me know I've got a couple of Dota 2 beta keys to give out. If anyone wants to give it a go, just give me a shout :)

Thank Bob for that, games I've heard of!

Return to Castle Wolfenstein still gets a regular outing, particularly while I'm travelling and stuck in a hotel room with only foriegn TV for company.

Otherwise, I'll still run Talonsoft's Eastern and Western Front games from time to time, though not as often as I used to.

I tend to prefer consoles for many types of game (Gran Turismo, RPGs; older Final Fantasy games etc).

My tastes for PC games tend to be a bit more specific.

WoW is awesome

Final Fantasy XI online was awesome; the newer Final Fantasy MMO was all looks and no substance.

Like Aion Online

Like games like Civilization; particularly modded.

Sim City games I enjoy but they look to have ruined 5. :(

I probably shouldn't admit this as an adult male but I quite like The Sims

Oh and Grand Theft Auto is a lot of fun, looking forward to 5.

I like WoW - But to be honest, £8.99 per month? Seriously... they've made million's from the game then they stick out Diablo III - Granted you can't roam freely as you can in WoW - but the game play is brilliant, I've not been playing that long, got a friend who's teamed up with me to help out, as TBH I ain't got a bloody clue what I'm doing at the best of times :D

Apparently, he's helped to make me into a Tank that won't die as soon as a birdy looks at me in Hell mode... A good friend of his actually had a Tank, he loaded it all up with a ton of protection and stuff, went in and a bird killed him... :D Quite funny, wish I'd had been there to see it... I only play on WoW or Diablo to chill out after work, couple of hours and I'm reet for bed. :)

Another PC Gamer here.

Currently playing through Dishonored and loving it, excellent game. Never been a fan of stealthy games, but this one is excellent (and doesn't punish you too hard when you blow your cover, phew).
Also enjoying Torchlight II, although my left mouse button isn't.

I use to have the old Diablo and Diablo II - Really enjoyed them, although it did get a bit boring after a while... until I found the Janus weapon work hack :D

Naughty, but quite fun... running in, waving my sword about while a storm of meteors fell to the ground and the land became poisoned as I ran about... everything died... reminded me of my ex wife. :D

Hi another PC gamer here

on my pre-historic pc, I played,

-heretic (shooting)
-jazz the jackrabbit (platformer)
-pokemon series emulator (has a genre of it's own for me, I call it my feel good game)
-disciples series (strategy, love this one)
-dune (strategy game before it was cool)
-commandos (another must have)

on my new pc, I played (previously)

-nba 2k10-13 series (when I play with my brother)
-MU online (no comment)
-maplestory
-COD

What I am currently playing
-rigonauts
-torchlight II veterans
-League of legends
-virtua tennis 4

I must say that the games I enjoyed the most are the games that gave me the most frustrations and difficulties like Commandos. I am currently looking for an indie game that you might recommend. I am also planning to play The Last Remnant (final fantasy esque game)
