Paypal Subscriptions

I've recently sold a website business that has multiple PayPal subscribers, obviously the new owner will want those subscribers paying his account now rather than mine.

Does anyone know if there is an option to transfer subscriptions to another account? A look on the documentation doesn't reveal anything.

I am not aware that there is any ability to transfer them and would be highly surprised if there was as the rules around continuous payment authority are fairly strict and getting increasingly so.

They will almost certainly need to change the membership in your app to a manual renewal and prompt users to manually resubscribe when their next payment is due - you'd expect a fairly large drop in subscriptions because of this.

You'll need to get your members to re-subscribe.

As others have said there isn't anyway around this other than canceling the old subscription and then re-subscribing.

I recently changed Paypal accounts and had to ask my clients to cancel their subscriptions and re-create them. I also couldn't use my bank account on my new Paypal account even after removing it from my old account

PayPal are very strict but I'm certainly happy about that because it means their security is much better.

If you are going to do something with paypal - better ask Paypal directly and make sure you will not be punished with them for your actions.
