PayPal payment is pending

When you receive an payment via PayPal but get the following message:

"We have placed a temporary pending status on this transaction.
PayPal is required to review certain transactions in order to minimise risk for us or our customers. We will complete this review within 72 hours. This review involves this transaction only and does not affect the use of your PayPal account for other transactions."

Obviously i need to wait for it to clear, however do PayPal inform the customer that they have held-up the transaction?

Unfortunately, the customer tends to blame the retailer for these delays, as Paypal do not always inform them at all.

Nonetheless, you have to sit tight, and wait for the review to be completed. I just tell the customer honestly what is happening. In the small number of instances that they kick off, I just have to take it on the chin.

wait wait wait. As frustrating as it is, it's the only way. Alternatively phone them up. It happened to me few times, 9 out of 10 times the payment clears out automatically, but on the odd occasion it doesn't and you need to chase it up [once it is already past the given date]

    This happens when an account is new ,when an account set up has not been completed properly maybe a bank account has not been added.
    If an account is established with no charge backs sometimes it will be pending as a random check so that one of paypals humans can run over it
