Since the beginning of May Paypal now keep all their fees when refunds are issued.

Is it legally binding to put in my website t&c's that any paypal fees associated with purchases are not refunded. Also, would i need a tick box to indicate online customer have read the t&c's ?

thanks,

No if its consumers you sell to. Their right to a refund overrides your right to charge them money for it.

Your costs associated with the payment processor are nothing to do with your customers.

Figure out how much a year it will cost you and factor that into your pricing. How much we talking here? £10? £30?

Or reduce the need to issue refunds.

Or change to another payment processor who doesn't keep fees when refunds are issued - though if you make it harder for buyers they may look elsewhere.

To be clear, my original post was written after I voluntarily refunded a customer who had admitted purchasing a product in error. There was no fault in the product itself - just the consumer changed their mind - but I take your point.
