Some input would be required how to handle this one.

I bought Ikea goods in Feb 2021 and placed an order online via their site with a delivery aim of 30 days. 10 days in I realised I needed to change order. At this stage I tried to change it online but not possible. All or nothing. Went on the phone 3 times and gave up after 1hour in the queue.

Goods from Ikea were delivered and asked on delivery can you return 3 items. Delivery company advised all our nothing and I need to talk to them. I needed the stuff as it as for a rental apartment I bought and didn't want delays. Back on the phone no contact after 1 hour.

I opened a claim with PayPal and ikea responded apologising and offered to collected the surplus goods and refund in the paypal case.

Goods where collected by Ikea and I waited a couple days. Went back to PP claim and asking after 10 days ( 1st of April ) when to expect my partial refund. They responded and confirmed collection and partial refund of £120 within 2 days.

Fair enough and I moved on with my life. End of April 2021 PP claim closed in favour of Seller - no partial refund issued.

Went on the phone with PP they apologised and opened another claim based on my partial refund and previous case.

This morning case PP closed again in favour of Seller Reason:

We've reviewed the transaction(s) and are denying your claim(s). This decision was made because PayPal Buyer Protection covers goods or services that weren’t delivered or are not as described

Now the big questions is how do I get back my money from Ikea. It is not the value of £120 that causes me sleepiness nights but how Ikea can get away. Any input welcome.

This sort of thing can be very frustrating but I don't think that either Ikea or PayPal are trying to 'do' you!

It sounds like what has happened is that by opening a dispute with PayPal you are trapped in an automated disputes procedure that can't cope with your particular circumstances.

As Ikea have already acknowledged that you're due a refund, it should be possible for them to issue a partial refund directly via their PayPal account - without involving the PayPal disputes procedure.

The reality is you cannot contact Ikea at the moments. Their phones are either off or they kick you out after 1 hour. Chat is disabled no email contact. The only time I got anybody from Ikea to respond was via a PP claim.

I Wycombe in person to the shop and sort with their customer services people.

This was bought online via their website not from a local one. Not sure if a 1 hour trip each way to a counter I didnt't buy from is even worth it.

This is the downside of automation. Mostly, it works very well.

You are outside of the system, now. This is only resolvable by making a phone call, or visiting IKEA, in person.

Making a phone call to a large company in 2021 is borderline impossible.

But that is what you have to do. If they don't answer, or put you in a massive queue, try social media!

Call bank and state goods not as expected. Should be able to do a chargeback.

Money claim online. You have enough evidence and paperwork from PayPal. Let the court decide and it seems pretty cut and dried. However, this is really very obvious stuff for anyone to ask. Surely it is far simpler to drive to the store or spend a couple of hours on the phone. There is no simple press a few button solutions to this kind of thing. People seem to expect internet simple solutions to everything?
