Payment Card Industry Self Assessment Quetionnaire

I am at a point where I need to fill out the compliance form for the Payment Card Industry standards to be fulfilled or pay Barclaycard 0.15% extra per sale.

Security Metrics are Barclays business partner and they want to charge £11.99 a year to ensure I comply, i.e. whilst filling out the form I can phone them if a get stuck. Or, I can fill it out myself and send it in, but they advise in advance that it is very difficult to do this without their help.

Does anyone have any info/advice they can offer on this subject please?

Thanks for that Kate.

Yeah, it was £11.99 for the year. I feel that I would be able to get through it on my own - there's just me and the pdq in the shop so it can't be extensive. Many thanks for the help.

Trish

It's really easy, it asks you questions about the way you take card payments so you shouldn't need any help doing that. £11.99 is the chea. £78 for HSBC... ouch!!!

Thats a bargain price...When you consider that PCI DSS consultants go for upwards of £400 a day in the payment industry!

You can probably do what is required of you, yourself, as other posters have said.

I did do what the forum suggested. I download the form myself, filled it out and sent it in. Most of the questions were not applicable for me and sent it in with a covering letter asking them to be specific about what on the form caused them to raise my charges, if indeed the charges were going to be raised. Everything was fine.:D My partner is an IT consultant and he said that a lot of the jargon on the form was totally unnecessary and that they could have worded it far more simply. I also put that in the letter:)
